John has been professionally producing radio since 2000. After working unpaid producing audio on a number of temporary licence stations he got his first break when he joined BBC Three Counties Radio as an Assistant Producer. John wrote scripts. screened and prepped callers as well as producing on air promos and sweepers.
In 2001 John joined Fox FM Oxford (CHR) as a presenter, but kept his hand in production by producing on-air imaging and Sales & Promotion for the area leading commercial radio station.
After joining the Chiltern Radio Group in 2004, John switched the focus away from presenting and took on responsibility for audio production for the groups four stations in the English Home Counties. These included 97.6 and 96.9 Chiltern FM, Watford’s Mercury 96.6 and FM 103 Horizon Milton Keynes – a total TSA of over 1.5 million listeners. John created ear-catching production that transformed the sound of the stations and increased his production knowledge by working in a Hot AC format.
In early 2005, just before John packed his bags to move to the USA, Watford’s Mercury 96.6 was sold and the new independent owners approached John to produce a completely new on-air station imaging package as part of the station's re-launch in June 2005.
Once Stateside, it wasn't long before John was producing audio for the American audiences. In 2006 Virgin Megastore's flagship store based in Times Square commissioned John to produce imaging for their instore station. This included a complete Harry Potter countdown package to promote the launch of the last ever Harry Potter book. Late 2007, John became Audio Producer at New York's Legendary all news station 1010 WINS part of the CBS Radio Group.
John is competent in using a variety of audio editing and mixing software including Adobe Audition, Sadie, Sound Forge and Acid. If he doesn’t know a system, John is very quick to learn.
